In addition to reporting below the results of the Harbor Playhouse Fundraiser, the Rialto has been the recipient of several other donations from organizations reaching out with recovery funds to help us get completely back on our feet.  While the Rialto did not sustain horrible damage, our old girl protected the inside of the building as best she could through horrendous wind and driving rain.  But lots of water did get inside, and our cosmetic repairs have enabled us to keep the stage lights on.  But these generous funds will now allow us to make some of the permanent repairs which are critical to ensure we can continue to keep community theater alive for hopefully years to come.
We express our heartfelt thanks to those who continue to support us.

Heartfelt appreciation goes to all volunteers and supporters who helped make the “Raise the Curtain on Coastal Bend Theatres” fundraiser a success.  On January 12th, Harbor Playhouse hosted acts from each of Aurora Arts Theatre, Port Aransas Community Theatre, Rialto Theater and Rockport Little Theatre plus their own to put together a Showcase of talent.  The joining together of these theaters on one stage was a first-ever production which we hope may become a tradition of sharing the stage to promote the wonderful community theaters of the Coastal Bend.

Karen Froeschner, President and Director of Theater Operations of the Rialto, accepted the ceremonial “check” from Fernando Fernandez, Jr., Board President of Harbor Playhouse.   Each of the three theaters damaged by Hurricane Harvey — Port Aransas Community Theatre, Rialto Theater and Rockport Little Theatre received donations of $4,000!  These donations will help us rebuild and keep theater alive in the Coastal Bend.

What an amazing experience!
